As a Building Code Analyst-I, you will work with a team of building & fire code experts to:

Develop and edit building code reports, review building code summary drawings, write/edit engineering judgment letters, perform accessibility inspections and write reports, mark up drawings and other documents in Bluebeam/Adobe software, assist in developing and writing alternate materials and methods. Participate in project meetings and take notes, correspond with team members, and correspond with clients as directed.

Learn and use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling software for fire and egress analysis. Edit fire analysis and smoke control reports. Prepare and edit other building code and fire engineering documents.

Participate in internal company meetings, assist in developing technical and marketing presentations, assist in other project, administrative, and marketing functions as directed, and assist in other tasks as directed by your supervisor.



Bachelor’s degree in architecture


Strong analytical skills for problem solving building compliance issues.

Strong research skills for building and fire code regulations.

Strong technical writing and report writing skills for building code, fire code, & accessibility tasks outlined above.

Ability to grasp form, structure, and application of graphics in technical reports.

Some prior knowledge of building codes, zoning codes, fire codes, or accessibility regulations.

Able to develop and follow daily/weekly task lists.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


1 – 2 years of experience in architectural office,

or 1 – 2 years of experience in using the International Building Code, International Fire Code, Americans with Disability Act (ADA), or Federal Housing Authority (FHA) regulations.
